ABOUT DAN'S

Dan has been creating wood pieces for the home for most of his life. He started woodworking as a young boy in California. As a boy scout, Dan eagerly sought the opportunity provided by the assistant scoutmaster, a journeyman cabinetmaker, to learn the ways of wood. The scoutmaster would open his shop once a week to any scout who cared to learn. Every week for five years Dan learned whatever the scoutmaster would teach him. Dan’s love for wood had taken root.

Dan’s interest is in making character pieces, not “cabinetry.” Each of his pieces is unique. By using different types of wood – each with its own characteristics and grain patterns – Dan lets the wood guide him in determining color, type of finish and technique.

Dan has made chests, cabinets, entertainment centers, accent pieces - each with his own “signature.” Not only does Dan craft each item individually (no assembly-line processes here!), he also signs and dates each of his pieces as further support of their individuality and custom creation.
